Review of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) by Laine S — 27 May 2017
This movie doesn't deserve the ire it has received by the critics. The story telling as a good pace and the action is fast and interesting. The characters are believable and easy to empathize. It wasn't an amazing film that blew my mind but It was interesting.
As European lore goes, this film has almost nothing historical, but that really doesn't matter. I really didn't expect it to follow the Arthur legend at all and that is completely fine. It stands on its own feet and it saddens me that because of the date it released and the snide comments from critics who obviously haven't seen the film will hold back its success.
Also the budget for this film was crazy high. There is no reason it shouldn't have been half of that. 175 million for an action film to be released during Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Alien Covenant was suicide.
.. They should have waited for the waters to calm down before they released it. Give this movie a throw. See it on 5 dollar Tuesdays or something, it's not the tripe these snobs say it is.
