Review of King Arthur (2004) by Simon R — 19 Jan 2010
For a delicious dish you must have the perfect recipe or almost. You must have the necessary ingredients and here is the great cook Antoine Fuqua to give a better dish. He used three essential ingredients.
The first is a hint of attachment, you cling to the character in the movie, it not just Arthur or Lancelot, it all of them. The epic drama and emotion captivate you and give you the impression of living with them with their emotions.
The second ingredient that Mr. Fuqua has used for the recipe is the perfect written. The dialogue of the screenplay is so well structured funny, strong and deep. This is not only the history of Arthur, but rather a team effort! That is now the final ingredient that made this film a great masterpiece in history of film epic.
The main course should be realistic, do not overfill. The story could be filled with magic and battle where Arthur wins without a scratch, but no, he has departed! The realist gives an impression that it is possible that this is achievable.
Antoine Fuqua is a great director and has given us an incomparable work called King Arthur.
