Review of King Arthur (2004) by Rebecca P — 21 Mar 2010
Modern version of King Arthur story. Guinevere is a pagan Woad and can communicate with Merlin without speech. She facilitates the Woad and Roman alliance by tricking Arthur before the Saxon invasion. She is permitted to fight in battle only due to the uneven ratio of fighters.
The whole Lancelot and Guinevere romance is practically nonexistent. He does save her life, but dies in battle. I don't envy her, how would she choose between Clive Owen and Ioan Gruffudd??? The battle strategies were flawless.
The plot philosophy was a little too democratic for history.
