If this was just a fantasy movie and not based in any kind of history, it would have been much better. The beginning of this film purports that "new evidence" suggests that this is how the real King Arthur may have got his foot hold in on England.
I simply could not buy into it. The names were familiar, as well as the setting, but the story was long, a little boring, and simply nowhere near as fun the legends.
