Review of King Arthur (2004) by Eric V — 20 Oct 2011
I've come to like the style found in the films by Antonie Fuqua. He manages to balance everything to keep things entertaining without pondering on into stupidity. Though this story may stretch the truth I like it for just being solid entertainment.
It's not Gladiator or Braveheart but it is certainly better than Kingdom of Heaven. Clive Owen is a good Arthur, grounded and pissed off. Kiera Knightley is eye candy and a plot device. The battle scenes are nice, the photography is nice, the acting is decent, and the entertainment value is double the popcorn.
I like this movie.
