Review of Kindergarten Cop (1990) by Dave H — 25 Apr 2009
"It's not a tumor!" The cop "action" bits are substandard and boring, and sit uncomfortably in this cross genre piece. But the scenes with the kids are genius - a perfect example of "fish out of water" high concept, and the poop-humour contrasts perfectly of Arnie's tough guy image.
All about the casting and concept, but pulled together sweetly. If the most popular flicks at HOYTS Regent when I worked there were "Die Hard" & "Croc Dundee 2", then Kindy Cop was definitely one of the movies from my HOYTS 8 days with the most audience goodwill.
