Review of Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) by Suote N — 14 Jun 2007
Quite simply, the perfect comedy. Not only is it the greatest comedy ever produced by the British, but the greatest film ever produced by the British, bar none.
An astonishing exercise in wit, irony, Britshness and the dark comedy these concepts produce. No need for laugh out loud moments as nothing resonates more than the deeply understated seduction of witticisms this film constantly slaps in the jellybeans with. Beyond hilarious and like I said at the top, the perfect comedy.
