Review of Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) by Elizabeth N — 20 Aug 2007
Most of you youngsters know Alec Guiness for his robed role in that insufferable series which shall be nameless but he had a full and amazing career in film long before Lucas. And this one is his best (and the best that Ealing Studios ever produced.).
Guiness plays 8 separate characters who are all killed off during the film.
A subversive, black comedy delight!
I wonder why this was never made into a Broadway musical? It's never too late...
