Review of Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) by Shane P — 13 Jul 2008
This film is like Alec Guiness' version of Peter Sellers' Dr. Strangelove. Mr. Guiness takes on eight different characters in remarkable and honest and ridiculous portrayals. So good and so long before Dr.
Strangelove. Audrey Fildes is also amazing. Her voice is so incredibly unique and hilarious and skillfully used. The humor and the wit are dry as all get out. But, it's clever and funny and dark and made in 1949 but feels like it could have been made yesterday.
