Review of Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) by Colm M — 06 Jul 2011
The best classic black comedy I have seen. Dennis Price brings this deliciously wordy and ruthless script to life with utter class and Joan Greenwood is not far behind in playing the dangerous, self centred and beautiful bitch.
One of the sexiest voices I have ever had the pleasure to listen to. She's like a dirtier version of Audrey Hepburn. Alec Guinness also shows his genius playing the numerous members of the aristocratic family.
The witty dark script, brillant performances and the perfect ending make this total classic cinema.
