Review of Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) by Andrew S — 18 Nov 2011
Blackest of all black comedies, with a black-hearted anti-hero to boot. Dennis Price is brilliant as the murderous Louis Mazzini who coolly bumps off the D'Ascoyne family, all played by Alec Guinness.
Watch out for Leeds Castle, where the scenes at Chalfont were filmed, and Arthur Lowe (later to find fame as Capt Manwairing) who has a walk-on part right at the end. Brilliant.
