Review of Kimi (2022) by Mattyice — 11 Feb 2022
Kimi doesn't break much new ground in the storytelling department, as it's like most "Rear Window"-esque thriller films, but it still provides an entertaining and well-shot experience that works as a short easily digestible and fun film.
Soderbergh keeps the film paced nice and quick while Zoe Kravitz's COVID-jaded Angela feels relatable. There are obviously some major plot conveniences (although with it taking place in Seattle, it's not too far-fetched to feature all the main story elements in one city), its ending is pretty silly, and the Kevin character was pretty unnecessary, but otherwise it's hard to truly dislike this film.
It will, at the very least, keep you entertained and make for a good and somewhat relatable popcorn thriller.
