Review of Killshot (2008) by Adam T — 25 May 2009
So glad I FINALLY got to see this movie after waiting for so long!! Even though the plot describes the movie from Diane Lane's character's POV, the story seems to revolve around Mickey Rourke's and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's characters.
Mickey was a Dirty Harry-style mob hitman with Native American bloodlines and Joseph's character was a crazy upstart hitman, who really just seems to think a life of crime is the life for him. I particularly loved his performance (but of course I'm biased, I love all of them) because of how well he pulled off the crazy/psychopath/hilarious country killer so well. My friends and I argued that if Christopher Nolan brought back the Joker, Joseph could fit the bill.
Diane Lane was gorgeous, as expected, and played a more demure, kinda squeeky and tame role, which for some reason, was weird for me to see. But I enjoyed the movie all-in-all.
