Review of Killshot (2008) by Joshua M — 02 Jun 2009
This movie feels as if it was meant for direct to dvd release, but somehow convinced a bunch of fairly decent actors to participate. The lack of interesting sound track, generic editing and a lot of horrible extras really took what could of been a half decent flick and sent it swirling down the cinematic drain.
Rourke's character is raw and he really takes over as the lead and does a decent job, but doesn't he always. Jane's performance isn't horrible, but his character lacks anything of interest.
This film might of been better with just Rourke and a bunch of random people off the street and amazing editing and sound track, like any Darren Aronofsky film. I am disappointed in what could of been a way better film.
Someone dropped the ball, and it wasn't really the actors, and the concept wasn't have bad. But like a pie, you can follow a great recipe and yet still bake a crappy tasting pie.
