Review of Killshot (2008) by Kevin R — 25 Nov 2010
I just gave her a back rub.
A troubled married couple is on the outs and about to split. The husband has issues with all aspects of his personal and professional lives and has decided to leave manual labor and becomes a real-estate agent. On his first day on the job he is approached in a black mail scandal due to a case of mistaken identity. He escapes the murder attempt and is placed in police custody. Will this situation fix his relationship or lead to both his marital and physical demise?
"It's a dangerous suit. I've been married in it and shot at in it.".
John Madden, director of Proof, Meat, Shakespeare in Love, and The Debt, delivers Killshot. The storyline for this film is interesting and worth following for the action genre. The action scenes were solid, but it was the dialogue and character portrayal that made this film work. The acting was flawless and the cast includes Mickey Rourke, Thomas Jane, Diane Lane, Rosario Dawson, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
"He was fucking that girl you blew away.".
Killshot was a film I was excited to see based on its cast but the release date seemed to keep getting pushed back. I finally saw this picture on cable recently and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie from beginning to end. I love Mickey Rourke's character and also thought Thomas Jane and Joseph Gordon-Levitt delivered solid performances. This is a must see film for action genre junkies.
"My girlfriend, she's a big Elvis fan.".
Grade: B+.
