Review of Killing Zoe (1993) by Sonja B — 30 Aug 2008
Didn't really know anything about this movie till Netflix recommended it. Believe it or not, I didn't know that Quentin Tarantino or Lawrence Bender had anything to do with it. I am a big Eric Stoltz fan and was glad to finally see him in another lead role.
From what I've read, he purposly stays out of mainstream films and chooses indie films because they are more interesting. I think that is a big waste of his talent. Just means that you have to look harder for movies he is in.
I thought it would be a splatfest but it was mixed with great plot and decent acting. Jean-Hugues Anglade is very talented in this pic. He plays the downward spiraling maniac right non the money. The rest of the cast is mostly unknown but their talents fit the film nicely.
I was pleased with this movie but don't see myself watching it too many more times. It's a bit dated and I had always seen it here and there but never got to see it. I would rent before I buy on this one.
Nice story and decent talent.
