Review of Killing Them Softly (2012) by Zachary G — 02 Nov 2013
Well I went into this movie with mixed expectations. My girlfriend watched it on her own and didn't finish it and put in another one, so I was wondering what all was wrong with it. I hadn't seen the trailer in several months but I remembered it being good and I liked Jesse James by Dominik a lot! I watched the trailer again after watching the movie and felt that it was much better than the movie itself, mainly due to the pacing.
The first few minutes of the film made me excited and thought that the pacing would be something genuine and that the cinematography would be something great. Well the cinematography is great for most of the film but the pacing was so off and the dialogue usually poorly written I was detached from the film and not invested in the characters.
I think this could have been cut up to make a really fantastic hour long movie but there was 30 minutes of space throughout that really was distracting. Especially so much politics with Bush and Obama it was getting annoying listening to it! One and Done I think with this movie.
