Review of Killing Them Softly (2012) by Lachlan D — 07 Nov 2013
There are so many areas where killing them softly could have retraced the conventional steps of a heist gone wrong film. Instead Dominik displays hatred to such ways just as much as he despises the reckless death wishing activities of age of excess stock brokers caught up in the high of a bull market.
The film also makes great use of purple patching, with spectacular action set pieces that show off Dominik's visual flair and tremendous dialogue exchanges that allow for some great character acting.
..Gandolfini in particular.
