Review of Killing Season (2013) by Thomas A — 01 Sep 2013
"Killing Season" has a mild suspense throughout, but not excessive, because it aims to be somewhat a semi-noir production...or maybe not. I don't know, the genre is confusing. Nonetheless, John Travolta and Robert de Niro being the two co-stars is a great advantage (especially this is perhaps the only rare case where Travolta has to adopt a non-American accent in the entire duration).
There is a lot of philosophical discussions (or perhaps ramblings) between the two as they aim to understand their respective roles during the war... Eventually, the ending is quite unpredictable as it strays away from what the movie title says.
But it's OK because the conclusion wraps things up nicely between the two characters.
