A sloppy, halfhearted attempt at a thriller, Killing Season is pretentious and incoherent. While on a hunting trip former U.S. Army Colonel Benjamin Ford becomes the hunted when a Serbian mercenary comes to exact revenge.
Robert De Niro and John Travolta lead the cast, but their performances are subpar at best. And the dialog is clunky and uneven; lacking in a consistent tone. There's an attempt to make a point about the scars of war, but it's muddled and poorly told.
Despite having a few thrills, Killing Season is an underwhelming film that's rather pointless.
