Review of Killer Movie (2008) by Matt R — 21 Mar 2010
It's not a terrible film per se, its just that the story is fairly sterotypical and lacks any spark for a film of this genre or as I should say collection of genres; Comedy/Horror/Mystery/Thriller. For me, it doesn't really excel in any one of those specific genres, maybe because it is trying to hard to cover too many bases. All the basic conponents are there, it just lacks that extra special bit of suspense or tension which, keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat throughout the entire film.
Plus, like many other films synonymous of the time, this film is just too short and doesn't really allow the story to get going and develop naturally. To me if felt like the story was going at a faster pace than neccessary but this could be due to the requirements of modern audiences worldwide.
In addition, there weren't too many memorable scenes in this film either, which was a bit of a let down to me.
Saying all the above, I did enjoy the reality show element to the film (even if something of a cliche) and by enlarge the acting from everyone involved was at a fairly good standard.
