Review of Killer Joe (2012) by Renatita C — 23 Mar 2013
Brutal, graphic and riveting; Killer Joe does not disappoint; you will never look at a piece of fried chicken leg in quite the same way after a particularly brutal scene, but I wont spoil the fun. Emile Hirsch is superb as a dimwit drug dealer and loser who concocts to kill his mother for insurance money.
Thomas Hayden Church is an even dimmer bulb, but aware of the craziness that surrounds his redneck family. Matthew McConaughey is deliciously creepy as a cop/ killer for hire who takes a teenage girl as collaterel so he can get paid.
