Review of Killer Joe (2012) by Dragon C — 30 Apr 2013
Far from The French Connection this freaky film was made. What was he thinking? Every character was a cliche: the good for nothing brother, away with the fairies sister and the dumb/drunk dad. All the elements for a thriller were in place, the only thing missing was a proper plot. It was running on empty.
McConaughey was very suited to the role: always thought he had the psycho-killer in him. Haden Church stood out as the only capable actor there, his talent was wasted in this. I came out of theatre thinking: I want to watch Sideways again! One thing's for sure: I'll never eat KFC again.
