I should have known better than to watch another film with Emile Hirsch. He's one of those actors like Dax Sheppard; if you see him in the cast then you know the film will not be good. I grew up on horror, it was one of my first loves when it comes to film, while this does have "strong performances" as RT states, these performances don't say anything interesting whether good or bad.

It is pushing boundaries for the sake of pushing them. I think the ending was probably the best part of the film, but that still is not saying much. It feels like you are watching a student film, the only saving grace is McConaughey.
