Review of Killer Elite (2011) by Paul N — 08 Apr 2012
This flic feels like the mideast version of Ronin. The "job" is only window dressing for a deeper plot with all manner of shades of grey. There are no good guys, and too many bad guys. Statham does what he does best, beat up everyone in sight but there's no real redemption here for him. I enjoyed Clive Owen's character more -- even more minimal than Statham's acting and I still wound up rooting for him.
The story seemed a bit rushed and Yvonne Strahovski is totally miscast as the 'girl'. She doesn't invest enough in her performance to make it feel as if she belongs in it. So a 3 out of 5.
