Review of Killer Elite (2011) by Vell H — 08 Feb 2012

(3 Stars) Killer Elite has a few good action scenes and I can't call it a bad film, but there's nothing really special about it. It has a promising leading cast and that's probably the main reason anyone is going to see it; Jason Statham, Clive Owen, and Robert De Niro.

.. that's like a mini-Expendables right there. But Statham's done better action movies, Owen only has one memorable action scene (with Statham) and De Niro doesn't do a whole lot until the end.

I'm sure this movie isn't going to hurt any of their careers, but it all seems kind of basic. Even Jason Statham's similar thriller The Bank Job has a certain style and suspense that keeps the movie going.

You can do worse than Killer Elite but you can also do better.
