Review of Kill Your Darlings (2013) by Kashfia F — 21 Oct 2013
I felt like the script was taped together from pieces of random thought the director had/knew about the Beats. The story could have been more focused, directed and crisp. A lot of unnecessary scenes that detracted without reason.
Such a shame too because the director had tremendous talent at his disposal with DeHaan and Radcliffe (who despite the script's failings were fantastic as Carr and Ginsberg) but wasted it. A good first draft - hope someone jumps in and writes a solid piece for a future movie on this fascinating time in the American literary scene.
