Review of Kill Your Darlings (2013) by Alan W — 10 Dec 2013
Partly a coming out and coming of age love story/tragedy and partly a murder mystery whodunit, it is definitely the latter which is more intriguing and watchable. The performances are uniformly good - especially DeHaan and Potter, I mean Radcliffe, acquits himself well in another mould-breaking and "challenging" role.
But something is missing. The film, much like DeHaan's coldly manipulative character left me a bit cold and while it is an interesting piece of indie melodrama with a famous ensemble and some clever camerawork, I never really cared for the characters and ergo, the film itself.
