Review of Kill the Irishman (2011) by Shelli S — 11 Mar 2011
Think Irish "Sopranos" in 70's Cleveland.
Based on the real life story of Irish mobster Danny Greene, this is a gritty, violent and charismatic story of a guy who was pretty much viewed as a Robin Hood. Starring Ray Stevenson, who was Titus in the "Rome: mini-series, the rest of the cast are household names: Christopher Walken; Val Kilmer; Vincent D'Onofrio; and from "The Sopranos", ironically in the sanitation biz in this film, Steve Schirippa.
The fact that Ray Stevenson isn't a household face makes this movie work even better because it makes his character all the more believable.
There's lots o action here: fist fights, guns and bombings. What makes it fun is its dark humor. If you miss "The Sopranos", this is the med for you.
