Review of Kill the Irishman (2011) by Bill F — 28 Apr 2011
"Kill the Irishman" is based on the true life story of '70s Irish gangster Danny Greene's struggle for power and control amidst the Cleveland based rackets of the Italian mafia and the ramifications of the mob's response.
Necessarily edited and fictionalized, with liberal license taken for dramatic effect, this film nevertheless does an excellent job of transporting its viewers to another place and time just long enough to tell its tale where it happened--the streets of Cleveland--and it does a great job.
