Review of Kill the Irishman (2011) by Ahmed " — 01 Jul 2011
A fine mash up between "Good Fellas" and "Lock, stock and....." but less classic than the first and less British than the second; it draws some elements from both flicks but it still has a style of its own.
Who said crime dramas can not be fun? "Kill the Irishman" tells a true crime story in a comic funny way. Loved the idea of using real footage and mixing it with filmed one; kinda gave the movie a vintage feel.
The soundtrack was wonderful and suited the movie`s mood; it was this kind of sad Irish music. The cast is what is really great about this film. Stevenson is charismatic as lead, and Kilmer and, of course, Walken shines in their small supporting roles.
To sum up, "Kill the Irishman" is a pretty watchable flick that probably many will miss, yet it really deserves a watch.
