Review of Kill the Irishman (2011) by Anthony E — 29 May 2011
First things first, this film magically transports you to the seedy underside of Cleveland Ohio in the 1970's. Secondly, you have to ask yourself, is that where you really want to be??? Made much more interesting by the "true story" angle, this movie feels more like a British gangster picture minus the accents.
While the script and direction are a bit clumsy, the STELLAR cast carries the film. I'm still annoyed that no one has properly used Val Kilmer's wonderful snark since Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I'm waiting for that one.
