Review of Kill the Irishman (2011) by Sage S — 10 Nov 2011
Interesting movie about Irish mobster Danny Greene, the man the mob couldn't kill. This was the first time I'd ever heard the story of Greene, and it seems as though the movie was relatively accurate in most of its characterizations of Greene and his battle to the top of the mob scene in 1970s Cleveland.
(I also didn't know Cleveland had a mob scene.) Ray Stevenson did a good job portraying Greene, although I found his hair throughout the movie very distracting. My only big criticism is that I found some of Greene's actions in the movie to be really outrageous, and it was hard to believe that the cops were never around, and he could get away so easily with the things he and his associates did.
