Review of Kill the Irishman (2011) by David S — 14 May 2012
It touches heights of a great, low budget gangster movie, but not enough. The script is wooden at times, and the acting awkward. In some ways I would dare to say it's the forgotten black listed film stars such as Kilmer, Walken and Stevenson who through poor choices or casting have fallen by the way side that have been cast in this film.
However, there is enough about Stevenson's character that is solid. I think D'Onofrio was first rate, and the story and suspense strong enough to hold attention. It's not a classic, but it passes the test.
