Review of Kill Boksoon (2023) by Bertobellamy — 10 Apr 2023
'Kill Boksoon' feels like a cross between 'John Wick,' 'Léon: The Professional,' and 'Kill Bill.' As with a lot of Korean crime films, expect a lot of gore and insane action sequences but also a duration that overstays its welcome before the 2-hour mark.
Nevertheless, I appreciate the peaceful moments in which Boksoon, the protagonist, reflects on her life and the raising of her only child. Of course, the brutal scenes are also welcomed. The universe is a little too John Wick-esque with all those rules the assassins have to follow and how they're organized as a company/school, but, in the end, the film is highly entertaining and funny.
