Review of Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) by Torie N — 23 Jul 2012
Although it concludes the epic story of the Bride's revenge with the same level of grit and style that its predecessor does, there is a drastic change in mood, tone and even energy as compared to Volume 1.
It starts a touch slow, and slowly builds itself to a fascinating second act, but it tends to drag its story long than it needs to. Tarantino seemed to focus more on style than substance here and I feel the way it throws its grand conclusion at you is a little less satisfying than expected.
Despite its flaws, QT's magic with dialogue is still present and strong and there are just as many great qualities to match.
