Review of Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) by Alexander B — 14 Nov 2012
I think this is one of QT's worst films. I think the man sometimes tries to position himself as a really great director (which he is, in a lot of ways), but he is so cocky about it that his product (which has the same faults as the source material he's referencing) doesn't always match up to what he imagines.
The first part of Kill Bill, Vol. 2 is much better than the entire Vol. 1.. all thanks to Michael Madsen's acting and character. However, the second half, or the entirety of "The Final Chapter" was just awful to watch. I didn't care for the overly forced sentimentality, the Shogun Assassin reference and sound bite... nor the entire conversation that took place between The Bride and Bill. QT can do a lot better than this.
