In Volume 1, we get the samurai with a little spaghetti western, but in Volume 2 we get the exact opposite. The first was an excellent exercise in style with subtle visual jokes and some brilliant fight scenes (especially the Showdown at the House of Blue Leaves) while the conclusion spends more time allowing its characters to talk.

And we know that Quentin Tarantino can write dialogue more thrilling than an out-of-control train. This exploitation duo is a reminder of everything that we secretly (and not-so-secretly) want to see in movies.

Tarantino's direction and writing is impeccable, and what he has given us is a wonderfully fun and gripping adventure for adults who want a little blood in their exploitation. The movie is very thoughtful and, I'll be damned, touching.
