Review of Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) by Brandon A — 14 Jun 2014
To say Kill Bill is one of Quentin Tarantino's best works is an understatement. Needless to say, it's one of the greatest movies I've ever had the pleasure to watch. After only intending to watch Vol. 1 during the night, I ended up binge-watching at 2:30 in the morning, in my pajamas, curled up at my TV screen with a hot mug of coffee in my left hand, and continued on towards Vol. 2.
Vol. 1 was a flawless spectacle of perfected cinematography, intriguing dialogue, and of course, over-the-top violence (not to mention an unexpected Japanese Anime scene). Seamlessly woven together through Q.T's perfectionist screenwriting, we not only had our jaws open for four hours straight, but we all felt the raw, merciless anger radiated from Thurman's perfect portrayal of "feminine rage.".
Vol. 2 continued the tradition, and might I say, added so much more. For those that did not find Vol. 1 to meet their expectations, I'm sorry to say you won't find your spirits lifted in this one. Alas, for those that have been on the edge of their seats since the incredible cliffhanger Vol. 1 has left us with, I'm glad to say you will find yourself most entertained.
It's not often I give movies a perfect score, but a cinematic feat such as this rightfully deserves the recognition.
10/10.
