95/100 - As good as Volume 1 is, I find the conclusion of Kill Bill slightly better than its predecessor for one reason: its substance. Yes, Volume 1 has some drop-dead amazing action sequences and does establish The Bride's motives, but Volume 2 gives added complexity to her motivation, especially with the history we see between her and Bill.
Tarantino's non-linear storytelling helps us see the characters through the lens that he wants us to, which ends up giving more heart to this film than expected.
