Funny story was I saw vol. 2 before this one so it took me a while to watch the story in the correct order. As for vol. 1 I think its the better of the two. The music is awesome. The beginning fight with Vivica is outstanding.
The hospital scenes and the final fight against the crazy 88 is the best. I really enjoy the cartoon back story on O-Ren. Just in its entirety, its a classic portrayal of kung fu and swordplay. An interesting choice for Tarantino but it works in so many good ways.
