Review of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) by Matt B — 24 Jan 2017
One of my favorite movies. Quentin Tarantino is the man!!!! The violence in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 will certainly draw people away. There are decapitations and blood and gore and punches and swords and severed body parts getting thrown around for most of the film.
It's brutal but completely stylized and over-the-top. Tarantino pays fun homage to the genres that inspired him to become a filmmaker: kung fu, spaghetti westerns, revenge thrillers, etc.
The Bride vs. the Crazy 88 fight sequence is one of the most eye-popping, utterly INCREDIBLE sequences I've seen in a movie. It's unreal. So badass. So stylish. SO AWESOME!!!
