Kitano takes a break from his hard-nosed, bloody yakuza trademark films and crafts a bittersweet and often hilarious gem with totally original and magical cinematography and subtle visual effects. Despite a foulmouthed, obnoxious and thuggish demeanor, Kitano's character has an uncanny power that makes him totally loveable.
A slow paced masterpiece!
