Review of Kidulthood (2006) by Adrian A — 21 Nov 2008
I have followed the career of Noel Clark closely ever since I first became aware of him when he appeared alongside Writer/Musician Ricky beadle-Blair in Channel 4's "Metrosexuality." He is perhaps best known for his role as Micky in Doctor Who but there is so much more to this young man than meets the eye. He is proving not only to be an accomplished and versatile Actor but an upcoming film maker and writer.
Kidulthood was penned by Clark and he also plays the role of Sam, a very different character than we are used to seeing him play as this guy is egocentric and violent. Watching this offering, one even dreads his on-screen presence as you know that trouble is brewing.
A brilliant movie which depicts the rougher side of street life in London. It's fast moving and gripping and is a must-see even though there are occasions when the fake Jamaican accents the kids use make some of the dialogue hard to understand. Far from detracting from the plot however, it only makes it more realistic.
