Review of Kidulthood (2006) by Adriaan T — 24 Nov 2008
Noel Clarke and Menhaj Huda attempt to make Britain's answer to Kids, instead they give us horrible characters that are just not interesting or entertaining. What is so well handled with Larry Clark's film is the underlying art and intellectualism that is just completely lacking here and the film is questionable on a moral level.
There seems to be no higher purpose or platform to view these characters from, which in turn glorifies their misdemeanors, even the suicide seems to be tossed aside in order to 'have fun' with the 2D characters.
