Review of Kids (1995) by Daniel F — 09 Aug 2017
The goal of the movie is to force you to see the often harsh reality of urban youth in an environment that does little to keep them accountable. Kids accomplishes that goal to the point of making you feel uncomfortable for watching the movie.
However, Kids fails to offer a solution or even a reason to stop this behavior which is evident all the way up to the ending scene. This is where this movie has serious shortcomings. Sure, you can show us the harsh reality, but don't get lost in that mess to the point that there is no return or hope.
That is what makes Kids just average.
