Review of Kicking & Screaming (2005) by David K — 16 Jul 2008
I just didn't laugh enough. Will Ferrell often plays a man-child character in his films. In "Kicking & Screaming" he plays an adult, and a father at that. He still tries to be funny, but I just didn't laugh.
He can play adult characters if the role is a dramatic one, but like I said, this is a comedy, and it just doesn't work. I can't completely knock the movie though. It does have Robert Duvall and Mike Ditka, which is funny enough in its own right, but unfortunately, it's not enough to warrant this re-watchable.
It is watchable, but just skip it if the choice arises.
