Review of Kick-Ass (2010) by Shishir A — 06 May 2013
The usual formula of the high school loser gets an action packed treatment in Kick Ass, where the loser finds his calling in becoming New York City's own real life masked vigilante. Comedy and action both collide in a fresh and cool post modernist style heavily influenced by comic books, with a colourful approach that brings back to the early superhero movies more than the modern high budget ones.
Special effects are great, but the script is also witty and balances them well, though be warned; this is not a family movie.
