Review of Kick-Ass (2010) by Bryan M — 26 Jul 2013
Stylistic bad-assery. Kick Ass is brash, loud and unashamedly limitless.
Chloe Grace-Moretz steals the show as Hit Girl; the pint sized superhero who's 'Big Daddy' (Nicholas Cage) has taught her to swear profusely, kill relentlessly and take a kicking when needed.
What this film achieves on such a minor budget in terms of fight and action sequences, is what big superhero movies can often only dream of. The 18 rating really let's the story get as wild as it needs to, without it ever becoming too unbelievable.
A stellar performance from Cage, a top script and some genuinely beautifully styled sequences make this movie an absolute MUST SEE.
I don't even want to knit-pick the few small issues I had with it.
