The plot sounds so absurd that I figured there was no way I would enjoy the film. Yet the absurdness of the plot not only helps it makes it more enjoyable than it should have been. While it is ultra-violent it does it tongue-in-cheek which works well for the style it employs.
Nicholas Cage is great (he seemed to really enjoy himself) and Chloe Grace Moretz is able to handle such an intense script with the wit of a grown adult and not a child. It will definitely not appeal to many but for fans of the genre it will be revered.
